Yellow-throated marten can be distinguished easily from the other civet due to its remarkable yellowish pelage extending from the chin, throat, and chest. It can grow up to 403—463 mm long. It prefers tall and secondary forests, but often also come to plantations and gardens.
Due to its wide distribution and relatively stable population, this species is considered as Least Concern in IUCN Red List. However, some threats still remain: habitat loss and occasional hunting.
